Sensor
Template:Technology A Sensor is a device that detects and responds to some type of input from the physical environment.
Overview
Sensors can detect a number of stimuli including life signs, physiology of people, structures, spaceships and their shields and weapons, energy fields, infrared heat, types of radiation, including Cosmic radiation and much more. Template:Cite Template:Cite Template:Cite Template:Cite
Ancient
The Ancients had sensors which could track spaceships across a galaxy. Template:Cite They had short range Life signs detectors which not only could sense nearby life signs but also detect radiation and provide medical scanning. Template:Cite Their sensors could be overloaded by intense energy bursts such as from Nuclear bombs. Template:Cite
Asgard
The Asgard have advanced sensors which can detect when people aid one another or remark certain phrases or words. Template:Cite Their sensors were capable of penetrating Goa'uld shields to scan inside ships. Template:Cite
Goa'uld
Goa'uld sensors could be blinded with radiation, isotopes injected into people would shield them from being detected and intense radiation would hide whole ships. Template:Cite The sensors could scan inside objects to determine their composition. Template:Cite
Tok'ra
The Tok'ra used sensors to help hide themselves. Tok'ra Sensor devices detected ships approaching their bases. Template:Cite They also have biosensors to scan individual physiology. Template:Cite
Wraith
Hive ships are keyed to their sensors, coming online when in presence of Wraith. Template:Cite Hive ship sensors have a limited range. Template:Cite Their sensors could be blinded by Nuclear bomb blasts. Template:Cite With increased powers, the sensitivity of Wraith sensors can be increased that they can detect cloaked vessels. Tau'ri
The Tau'ri had their own types of sensors including Geiger counters and Thermographic sensors. Template:Cite They create their own based on Goa'uld designs and later obtained Asgard versions. Template:Cite Template:Cite These sensors could be blocked when near Black holes. Template:Cite
