==Overview==
The planet has a small base located on it with living quarters, an infirmary and a brig. The base is, at least partially, powered by a [[Naquadah generator]]. {{Cite|SG1|Allegiance}}

==History==
When two [[Goa'uld]] [[Ha'tak]]s arrived in orbit, several teams were sent through the [[Stargate]] in the event that [[Earth]] was attacked. [[Daniel Jackson]] escaped from one of the ships which had a Stargate aboard to the Alpha Site. {{Cite|SG1|The Serpent's Lair}} Groups from Earth evacuated to the Alpha Site when an [[Asteroid|asteroid]] was discovered heading towards Earth. After the asteroid was taken care of, they returned to Earth. {{Cite|SG1|Fail Safe}} A number of free [[Jaffa]] came here after [[Cal Mah]] was attacked. The [[Tok'ra]] evacuated here after being attacked by [[Anubis]], followed by a [[Cloak|cloaked]] [[Ashrak (Allegiance)|Ashrak]] who attempted to rig a Naquadah generator to explode but it was found in time. They began killing people at the base in an attempt to get them to turn against one another but they were discovered and killed. {{Cite|SG1|Allegiance}} When Anubis probed [[Jonas Quinn|Jonas Quinn's]] mind, the location of the Alpha Site was revealed so it was abandoned and a [[Alpha Site 2|new one]] was established. {{Cite|SG1|Death Knell}}

==Alternate Realities==
*In an [[Alternate Reality|alternate reality]] visited by [[Daniel Jackson]], the Alpha Site was called the Beta Site and was used to evacuate several people when [[Apophis]] began attacking [[Earth]]. {{Cite|SG1|There But for the Grace of God}}
*In an alternate reality, the SGA sent people to this planet, known as the Beta Site and had instructions to bury their Stargate once the last group came through. {{Cite|SG1|Point of View}}
