Icarus Project

The Icarus Project was a Tau'ri project to investigate the Ninth Chevron.

History

The project was to dial the Ninth Chevron address found in the database on Atlantis. The project was run by Nicholas Rush out of Icarus Base on P4X-351. It was approved by Senator Alan Armstrong and $1.6 billion was used to fund it. In 2009, Eli Wallace was brought aboard after he solved a math proof linked to the power requirements needed to dial the address. The Destiny expedition was to be sent through to explore the address but a Lucian Alliance attack on Icarus Base occurred. Eli figured that the Point of Origin for the planet was not the one that was needed for the address, but was a combination instead. Rush dialed the Stargate and a number of base personnel had to evacuate through the Stargate as the planet's core had become unstable. Template:Cite
