Star Drive

Template:Technology A Star Drive is an intergalactic engine installed on City-ships.

Overview

These engines was installed on Atlantis and the Tower. Template:Cite They are combined Hyperdrive and Sublight engines. Template:Cite The engine requires inertial dampeners to be activated first. History

Dr. Radek Zelenka was worried the Wraith could engineer their own star drive from the wreckage of Atlantis if they had to destroy the city. Template:Cite A Goa'uld wrote a program to activate Atlantis' Star Drive in order to overload the Zero Point Module. Template:Cite In order to drain the ZPM in the Tower, Meredith Rodney McKay activated the Star Drive. Template:Cite Atlantis' Star Drive was activated by the Asurans but it was damaged when Carson Beckett fired Drones into it to prevent the city from taking off. Template:Cite The Star Drive on Atlantis was activated, using power from a single ZPM and the Mobile drilling platform to lift off. The engine stalled out when the power conduits were damaged. Template:Cite The conduits were repaired and a new ZPM was installed to activate the Star Drive and take Atlantis to M35-117. Template:Cite The Star Drive was used to take Atlantis to Earth but it died on the edge of the Milky Way. Template:Cite
