Garage Door Opener

Template:Technology A Garage Door Opener, commonly abbreviated to GDO, is a Tau'ri security-access device.

Overview

The device send a code through the Stargate to determine who is trying to gain access to Earth. Once the approved code is received, the Iris is opened. Template:Cite

History

On the first mission to Chulak, SG-1 and SG-2 were given GDO's with codes that would be locked out if they didn't return to Earth or send a message back in 24 hours. Template:Cite An Ashrak took Pierce's GDO from him when he attacked him. Template:Cite Jonas Quinn secretly used his GDO to enter his IDC so the prisoners taking him hostage would end up on Earth. Template:Cite The Goa'uld Mot took the GDO's from SG-1 and SG-15 and wanted to know their IDCs. He later allowed them to escape so they would use them and he could send a Goa'uld Bomb to Earth.
