Cameron Mitchell watched the first Space Shuttle launch with his father. Template:Cite The Challenger was destroyed in an accident and NASA put the space shuttle program on temporary hold. Template:Cite When SG-1 were aboard the Replicator-controlled Biliskner in orbit of Earth, NASA prepped a shuttle to collect them so they could destroy the ship before it landed but the plan had to be changed and the shuttle never launched.
