Event horizon
The Event horizon is the barrier that leads into a Wormhole.
Overview
The event horizon is made up of quantum particles. Template:Cite The Stargate uses density, molecular structure, and the force being exerted on the event horizon to determine if something is trying to pass through. Template:Cite The event horizon is what dematerializes something that passed into the Stargate. An event horizon can be created in a Stargate without a wormhole should there be anything in the energy buffer. Template:Cite If nothing enters an outgoing wormhole's event horizon, including energy, the wormhole disengages. Template:Cite Part of a Black hole is referred to as an event horizon. Template:Cite The event horizon will hold things until the entire object has passed through it before it transmits. If part of a person is outside the event horizon they can be pulled back out. Template:Cite The Attero device caused Stargates in its range to build up power within the event horizon when activated, which quickly became critical and caused the Stargate to explode. History
When Daniel Jackson first approached the Stargate, he placed his hands into the event horizon to test it. Template:Cite When the Goa'uld in Charles Kawalsky was attempting to get through the Stargate, Teal'c held him in place with the back part of his head in the event horizon so when it shut down it removed that part of his head and killed him. Template:Cite When affected by Ma'chello's Goa'uld-killing organisms were in Jackson they caused him to hallucinate an event horizon within a closet, that had a dead body pull him into. Template:Cite An event horizon without a wormhole was created when Teal'c was trapped in the energy buffer of the Stargate. Template:Cite A Puddle Jumper that became lodged in a Spacegate had the cockpit within the event horizon and couldn't transport anything until the rest of the ship entered. Aiden Ford had an arm that was outside the event horizon and was able to be pulled out. Template:Cite
