Lantea

Template:Planet Lantea is a planet in the Lantean System in the Pegasus galaxy.

Overview

History

The planet is periodically hit by intense radiation every 15,000 years from a Coronal mass ejection. Template:Cite Atlantis ended up on this planet. Template:Cite Atlantis protected most of Lantea from a coronal mass ejection around 13000 B.C.. Template:Cite The Lantean-Wraith War ended with Atlantis being submerged in the ocean and the Lanteans leaving for Earth. In 2004, the Atlantis expedition arrived on the planet. Template:Cite After a landmass on the planet was discovered by the expedition, the Athosians moved out there to explore it and plant crops. Template:Cite A hurricane formed in 2005 and the Athosians left the mainland and the expedition evacuated through the Stargate. Template:Cite A Dart was sent to a nearby planet and made its way to Lantea, where it scanned Atlantis before sending a signal to nearby Hive ships that headed for the city. Template:Cite A military team from Earth arrived to help defend Atlantis from the Wraith. Template:Cite

The Daedalus arrived to provide a Zero Point Module for Atlantis and helped defend the planet from the Wraith. Twelve more Hive ships headed for the planet but they were tricked into thinking Atlantis was destroyed so they left. Template:Cite An Asuran City-ship sent to destroy Atlantis was destroyed in orbit of Lantea and the Asuran Niam was ejected into space. Template:Cite When the Lanteans returned and took control of Atlantis, the Athosians were removed from the mainland to New Athos. The Asurans launched a ship to Lantea that attacked Atlantis and took control of it. Template:Cite Sheppard's team, Elizabeth Weir and Carson Beckett went into orbit of the planet to collect Niam's body. Template:Cite The planet was spared from a coronal mass ejection in 2007 when it was diverted by the Daedalus.
