Overview
The technology requires an authorized person to apply their palm, which is then scanned. Once approved, it will open the Iris. Template:Cite It can also be used to disconnect an open wormhole. Template:Cite
History
This technology was installed after it was discovered that Reetou could access the computers and open the Iris, without palms to scan it would be impossible for them to control the iris. Template:Cite When using an electromagnetic pulse that backfired, Samantha Carter used a palm scanner to close the Iris only to be shocked and thrown backwards. Template:Cite
