Template:Spaceship The Daedalus is a Tau'ri spaceship.

Overview

The Daedalus had alien technologies integrated into its design rather than added afterwards. Template:Cite

History

The ship was completed in 2005 and its hyperdrive was being tested for its trip to Atlantis. Template:Cite A Zero Point Module was installed on the Daedalus to increase the speed of its hyperdrive and help it get to Atlantis inside of four days. Template:Cite The ship arrived in time to beam John Sheppard out of a Puddle Jumper delivering a Nuclear bomb to a Hive ship. It beamed another nuclear bomb to the other Hive ship and destroyed it. The ship was taken to a nearby planet to take on more Hive ships but they developed a counter to the beaming technology and the Daedalus was damaged and had to flee. It landed on Atlantis for repairs and later beamed a nuclear bomb over the city to make it appear that they had destroyed the city. Template:Cite The Daeadlus returned to Earth and later went back to Atlantis. Template:Cite Template:Cite

While on its return journey the ship was taken over by a Wraith Computer virus that tried to alert nearby Wraith and later tried to kill everyone aboard. It was purged and the ship continued to Atlantis. Template:Cite The Daedalus went to Doranda to check on Project Arcturus and provided cover from the Dorandan Weapon so Meredith Rodney McKay and Sheppard could get their Jumper through the Spacegate. Template:Cite The ship was later put through some diagnostics to examine its hyperdrive. Template:Cite The Daedalus went to investigate the Aurora and destroyed a Scout ship. Template:Cite The ship was sent to find a Hive ship and try to rescue Sheppard's team. They found the hive and another and engaged in battle with them; luckily the ships turned against each other and were destroyed. Template:Cite

The ship received a message from Earth about a bomb on Atlantis and turned around to get in range of the city to relay it. They were ordered to remain to relay more information but instead returned to Atlantis to help with the investigation. Many people were put aboard the ship to be evacuated but the sabotage on Atlantis was uncovered. Template:Cite The Daedalus stopped by Tegalus on its way back to Earth to find that the people had gone to war and destroyed one another. Template:Cite Hermiod performed some repairs on the ships hyperdrive and had it taken on large orbits of the Lantean System. Template:Cite The Daedalus had to fill up with Taranians to evacuate them from their world. Template:Cite

The Daedalus had to defend a friendly Hive ship from another Hive. When going to meet with the Hive again, the ship was attacked by it and another hive which caused a number of hull breaches and weakened the shields. Template:Cite The ship was hastily repaired and sent out to stop the hives from getting to Earth and with help from the Orion destroyed one of them and damaged the other. The Daedalus was severely damaged, losing its hyperdrive and life support. Template:Cite The ship was repaired again and sent out to stop some converted Wraith from being rescued but they arrived too late. Template:Cite

The Daedalus underwent repairs. Template:Cite The ship transported Sheppard's team to near Sateda for a rescue mission. Template:Cite The Daeadlus returned to Earth where Jeannie Miller was beamed aboard. She later went aboard the ship with McKay to go to Atlantis. The ship later returned to Earth. Template:Cite The Daedalus stopped by M1B-129 to pick up Sheppard's team and Lt. Kagan. Template:Cite The ship went into the void between Milky Way and Pegasus where the Midway Space Station was being built for the first test of the McKay-Carter Intergalactic Gate Bridge. The ship was accelerated to its sublight maximum to try to match speeds with a passing ship. Template:Cite The Daedalus later was sent to Atlantis to destroy the city when the Asurans took control of the city. Template:Cite The ship began making regular fly-bys of Asuras to monitor the Asurans. Template:Cite

The ship had to bring aboard expedition personnel who were suffering due to the proximity of the Flagisallus. It later went to the Lantea Star and used its shields to divert a Coronal mass ejection from Lantea. Template:Cite The ship was sent to a Black hole where a Stargate was located that was connected to the Supergate in the Milky Way. Jack O'Neill ordered the ship to destroy the Stargate to disconnect the wormhole. Template:Cite The ship picked up Sheppard's team from M4D-058 and fired several shots at the planet to simulate war between two countries. Template:Cite The ship stopped by a planet to search for Michael Kenmore and his Bug people. Template:Cite

The Daedalus transported Sheppard, McKay, Ronon and Agent Malcolm Barrett from the SGC to Vancouver. Template:Cite The ship came to Atlantis with the Apollo to start to hunt down Asuran ships. After destroying four of them, the Asurans retreated to their planet. The ship took part in an assault on Asuras. Template:Cite The ship left Earth after contact with the Midway Space Station was lost and eventually picked up a Jumper near its location, with survivors of the stations destruction before continuing to Atlantis. Template:Cite The ship transported Sheppard's team to a planet to search for Teyla and when Michael's Cruiser arrived, it opened fire on the ship but it soon escaped. Template:Cite

The ship was on its way to Atlantis when it was instead directed to M2S-445. Template:Cite Michael's Cruiser arrived and the Daedalus took out its hyperdrive and then its main weapons but the ship was damaged. It was repaired and then destroyed the cruiser. Template:Cite The ship transported Richard Woolsey to Atlantis to take command. Template:Cite The ship scanned a planet to try to locate Ronon's transmitter but found nothing. Template:Cite The Daedalus was on its way to Earth when another Daedalus arrived in orbit of Atlantis. Template:Cite

Todd came aboard the Daedalus to test Keller's Gene therapy and when two of his Cruisers were destroyed by the Attero device, Todd assumed they were behind it. He used Wraith Stun rods to stun the bridge crew and began beaming his troops aboard. He took it to near Atlantis and contacted the city to get the location of the Attero device. Template:Cite Ronon Dex and Jennifer Keller evaded capture and Ronon disabled many of the ships systems. Todd locked the ship on a collision course with the Attero device facility and he and his troops left. The ship was taken through a hyperspace window through the planet to avoid hitting it before control of its systems was taken back. The ship later collected a Stargate from the intergalactic gate bridge to replace the destroyed one on Atlantis. Template:Cite The ship went to engage with a ZPM-powered Hive ship and went in to block a shot from destroying a Jumper with Sheppard's team aboard. The ship came under fire and its shields were almost entirely depleted, with the hyperdrive and weapons going offline. The Hive ship suddenly left and the Daedalus had to be repaired to make it back to Atlantis. Template:Cite
