Auto-destruct
An Auto-destruct, also known as a self-destruct, is a system which will destroy something if certain conditions are met, such as a timer reaching zero.
Overview
The auto-destruct at Stargate Command is capable of vaporizing the entire facility. Template:Cite A Tel'tak can be equipped with an auto destruct system. History
Stargate Command used an auto-destruct when the Goa'uld would attack the Stargate in the event that the Iris failed and the base was compromised. Template:Cite When Major General George Hammond initiated the Wildfire directive to lockdown the SGC, a containment failure was detected and the auto-destruct was automatically activated. They were unable to deactivate it because an organism from an Orb had infected the computers, when the organisms returned to the orb the auto-destruct was disabled. The auto-destruct system on the O'Neill was used to destroy the ship and the Replicator-controlled ships following it through hyperspace.
